What's a STAR NOTE?

The simple answer is it's a REPLACEMENT Note.
When the Bureau of engraving and printing (BEP) builds up a lot notes and finds an Error,
they replace that (or those) notes with a STAR NOTE. There are not many star notes made.
Usually it's .02% to 2% of the notes made are Star notes.
The chances of you getting a star note is about once a year.
